See you there!
Oral History Program
Thousands of stories lay within the walls of the Walker House depicting decades of early Kincardine history. We are pleased to announce our new Oral History Project that strives to preserve many of the stories and memories that are often lost to time. The project aims to have participants recount their memories of the Walker House and life in Kincardine through an interview format while being filmed. Once all the videos have been collected, they will be combined to create one massive oral storytelling showcase.
Historical Cooking Program
The Walker House Museum has started a new historical cooking program this summer that aims to recreate old recipes from cook books found in the museum’s collection.Tested recipes are available for the public to try by donation during the Monday Market and other local events where the Walker House Museum's promotional booth is set up.
The Walker House Family Tree
With the help of Kathy Trumble, our summer students were able to create a Walker House Family Tree. On display in the museum is the first 3 generations of the Walker Family put up in banner format on the right side of the staircase. Come stop by and ask the students if you would like to know more information on further generations stored in our documents!
